Kathy has been a trusted source and regular go-to for consumer, retail, technology, business, economic, trade and policy media for nearly 15 years, serving two of the nation’s most influential industries – retail and travel.
At SalientMG, Kathy leverages her experience leading strategic media plans, as well as her key insights into working with journalists from various sectors to oversee the execution of SalientMG’s and its clients’ public and media relations programs.
Kathy thrives on idea generation to help boost an organization and its executive’s profile in media, and believes it is more important to build relationships with journalists rather than focus on individual opportunities. Kathy has landed coverage and appeared as a spokesperson in print and broadcast outlets around the country, including the Today Show, Wall Street Journal, Mashable, NPR, USA Today, CNBC, Bloomberg, Washington Post, Associated Press, Fortune, Forbes, New York Times and more.
Prior to joining SalientMG, Kathy was a managing director for industry public relations at Airlines for America, the leading trade association for U.S. airlines. Before A4A, Kathy served as the National Retail Federation’s senior director of media relations, where she was responsible for the implementation and execution of NRF’s consumer and industry-based media strategies.
Kathy lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband, a Department of Homeland Security human resources professional. Outside of PR and media, Kathy enjoys Washington Nationals baseball where she and her husband are hoping the team can make it out of the first round of the playoffs just once.
