Mari Kim is a curious, well connected, strategic marketer so has spent most of her career focused on emerging technology within the digital space. Most recently she held the position as President of Advertising Week, where she served on their Board of Directors for over fourteen years.

Prior to Advertising Week, Mari Kim was CMO of Rubicon Project, the global exchange for advertising, where she oversaw a global team charged with driving the adoption of a unified platform for advertising across all screens, devices and formats.

Mari Kim has worked with many participants in the advertiser and buyer community, including 9 years at Microsoft as their Global Head of Marketing for Microsoft Advertising and responsible for Microsoft’s global marketing budget, industry outreach and sales enablement programs supporting brands including XBOX, SKYPE BING and MSN.

At Microsoft, Mari Kim spearheaded the creation of a team, which centralized marketing initiatives, streamlined core messaging & expedited delivery of services; saving company significant dollars and gained much needed recognition for the brand. She programmed, sponsored, hosted C-level executives at global tier one programs, e.g. Cannes Lions, CES, TED@Cannes, CMO Summits, driving deeper relationships and offering the sales force a unique platform to show and tell their story, e.g. multi-screen sales offering, the launch of BING. 

Mari Kim focuses on giving back in her free time and holds positions within the industry as Chairman of  Board of Directors for The Advertising Club of New York; Trustee for the nonprofit Creative Spirit; Advisory Board member for the Arts and Letters Committee for the YMCA’s Y After School Initiatives; and has served as a judge of the AAF Hall of Fame inductees, Festival of Media Awards, just to name a few. 

Mari Kim received Ad Age’s “Women to Watch” award, She Runs It’s “Changing the Game” and “Working Mother of the Year” Award.  She has been recognized by New York Business Journal as a “Women of Influence” Honoree, and named to Business Insider’s list of The Most Powerful Women in Mobile Advertising.
